The Center for International Studies at MIT frequently holds events, activities, forums, and presentations that need advertising. I designed many posters and social media graphics for many of their programs.
The CIS Starr Forum is a public event series, sponsored by the Starr Foundation of New York, where CIS brings leading academics, policymakers, and journalists to MIT to discuss pressing issues in the world of international relations and US foreign policy. Offered throughout the year, Starr Forum events focus on a wide array of global topics, bringing together experts in the field for lively discussion and thought-provoking conversation.
Below are graphics I made for Instagram (square), and Twitter/X and LinkedIn (horizontal rectangle) for the Starr Forum events above.
I also worked for CIS's sub-program MISTI (MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives), which promoted MIT students fostering international connections by doing internships, teaching, and studying abroad. I worked on a promotion for their Latin America programs, where I designed a series of posters that were similar enough to be recognized around the MIT campus as a series, but had enough unique elements to highlight each country individually.
In tandem with the Latin America Engagement project, I also redesigned MISTI's Infinite Corridor Case. The Infinite Corridor at MIT is a long, narrow hallway that runs through the center of the main campus buildings. It is littered with posters and advertisements for various student events, clubs, and activities. In this hallway, MISTI has their own bulletin board where they can highlight their programs and events.
I designed a large-scale print that could be both evergreen and updated when needed. The entire topographic background, plus the MISTI description at the top left, and the MISTI images in the circles at the bottom left, are meant to stay up continuously. The student features in the dark gray bar in the middle can be printed out separately and updated with new students. The entire right half is left blank as space to advertise MISTI programs. The entire board is about 70 inches wide and 40 inches tall.
Below is a mockup of what the board looked like with the Latin America posters on the right and students who participated in Latin America MISTI internships in the student feature section on the left.
