In preparation for the 2020 election, the Center for Art and Community Partnerships (CACP) at Massachusetts College of Art and Design launched "MassArtVOTES," a social media campaign designed to boost civic participation amongst the MassArt community. I became their graphic designer shortly into the project and designed a number of graphics for their Instagram and promotional material to be printed around the school.
I got to try handwritten scripts for the first time, as seen above in the two quotes. I also enjoyed working within the strict color palette — it was a challenge, but an interesting one. Red, blue, and yellow are MassArt's official colors (primary colors for an art school), so we muted them just a bit and with the occasional light gray and black, these were the only color used.
In addition to Instagram posts, we also got to make buttons using the MassArtVOTES logo, and pass them out to students (above). Also, I got to use After Effects to animate Illustrator files to make these animated videos below. The rectangular video on the bottom was for a virtual event we hosted for students to ask questions about the voting process, and this was used as the waiting screen.
